Mrs C Barclay

As an ex pupil of Shotton Hall Infant, Junior and Senior Schools I was delighted to be appointed as a parent governor in 2002 when my elder son was a Junior School pupil. When the two schools were amalgamated in 2010 I was reappointed as a community governor in the new Primary School. My extended family have children in school and I always strive to make sure that they, and all other pupils, are the best that they can be by supporting and, where appropriate, challenging the headteacher and all other staff.

I was elected to the role of Vice Chair of the Governing Body in the Autumn  of 2013 and to the role of Chair in the Summer of 2014. I hope that my experiences to date enable me to make well informed decisions and lead the Governing Body so that Shotton Hall Primary School enables all pupils to ‘Shine’.

Peterlee born and bred I currently live in Castle Eden with my husband, my youngest son and border collie: Obi!

For the past twenty five years I’ve worked in education finance: various positions within Durham County Council; Head of Finance at The Academy at Shotton Hall, and currently Senior Partner at Avec Partnership in Newton Aycliffe. My current role enables me to work with many schools and academies across the region – a job which I absolutely love.

I enjoy walking in Castle Eden Dene with my dog. I hate running but I force myself to use the treadmill and do HIIT workouts and my favourite pastime is spending time with my family.
