Pre-School

In Nursery, the teachers are Mrs Scollen and Mrs Smith.  We both really enjoy working in Nursery and love to see the children develop.  Our main intake is in September, however we will have a January intake and an Easter intake, depending on the availability.

This year in Nursery we are beginning with learning about different kinds of food and Celebrations.  This will include Harvest where we will learn about different vegetables and we will use the vegetables for a variety of activities including making soup.  We will also learn about the Muslim celebration Eid, our favourite foods, Diwali, Bonfire night, parties and party food and then Christmas.

In the spring term we will be learning all about the weather.  We will be listening to stories all about different weather and seasons and thinking about clothing we may wear depending on the weather.  This topic will also give us plenty of opportunity to get outside and experience winter weather first hand – we hope there will be snow!

The summer term will involve looking at and learning about different animals.  This may be our pets, mini-beasts, jungle animals or even dinosaurs!  The possibilities here are endless and hopefully the children will initiate their own learning.  We will also be organising a trip out somewhere for the summer, linked to the topic.

Useful Information

  • Please return your child’s library book on any day to have it changed.
  • Please remember to put names in ALL items of clothing.
